In April 2023, a friend and I set off on a mini road trip from Salt Lake City to experience Utah’s stunning landscapes, including Arches National Park—a must-see if you haven’t been! We stayed in Moab, right outside the park, where we experienced the town’s newly launched fare-free microtransit service, Moab Area Transit, which offered both fixed-route and on-demand options. While the service was convenient, I noticed several areas where the accompanying mobile app could be improved, particularly for first-time visitors like myself.

Drawing on my UX background, I'm taking the opportunity to reimagine a more efficient and user-friendly app experience to help visitors make the most of their time in Moab. I'm focusing on simplifying decision-making between fixed-route and on-demand services, improving users’ understanding of the transit service area, and enhancing the discovery of Moab’s points of interest.
